US President Donald Trump said the United States might carry out another military operation against Iran under the name "Epic Fury", while suggesting that Tehran could avoid it by agreeing to come to terms. The Times of Israel reported that Trump said the US "may do another little Epic Fury" against Iran. The Jerusalem Post described the remarks as Trump saying Washington may renew strikes against Iran.

The comments were also carried by Hebrew-language outlets on the evening of October 23, 2026. N12's foreign desk reported that Trump made the remarks at a rally, and that he framed the choice as either a small new operation or Iranian agreement. Ynet's alert service quoted him as saying the US might soon launch "Epic Fury 2".

The setting of the remarks

N12 said the president was speaking at a rally. A photo caption in the Jerusalem Post report says Trump was arriving to speak at a campaign event on October 23, 2026, held at the Alico Arena on the Fort Myers, Florida campus of Florida Gulf Coast University. The reports do not spell out whether the Iran comments were part of a prepared speech or an aside, and none of them gives the wider passage in which the remarks appeared.

What "Epic Fury" refers to

None of the five reports explains what "Epic Fury" was. Trump's use of the word "another", Ynet's rendering of "Epic Fury 2" and the Jerusalem Post's description of renewed strikes all indicate that the name belongs to an earlier US action against Iran. The reports do not describe when that action took place, what it targeted or what it involved, and this article does not fill in those details.

The Hebrew outlets translate the name differently. Ynet transliterates it closely, while N12 and Abu Ali Express use a Hebrew phrase closer in meaning to "mighty fury". Readers comparing the Hebrew and English coverage may therefore see what appear to be two names for the same thing.

How the accounts of his words differ

The core of the remarks is consistent across the reports: Trump raised the possibility of a further, small operation and set it against the alternative of Iran agreeing. Two Hebrew reports carry a longer version. According to Abu Ali Express, Trump said that if the Iranians were smart they would simply propose getting down to business, but that he doubted they would, because perhaps they were not especially smart. N12's version is close but firmer on the last point, rendering him as saying he doubted they would do so because they are not smart.

That difference, between "perhaps not very smart" and "not smart", appears in Hebrew translations of English remarks. Without a full English transcript in the material, it is not possible to say which rendering is nearer to what Trump said. The Times of Israel and Jerusalem Post items available here give only the headline phrase.

Ynet's version also differs in emphasis: it quotes Trump as saying the US might go ahead "soon", a word that does not appear in the other accounts.

Who carried the report

The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post are English-language Israeli news outlets. Ynet is the news website of the Yedioth Ahronoth group, and N12 is the news brand of an Israeli television channel. Abu Ali Express is a Hebrew-language Telegram channel that follows Middle East security news. Three of the items are short alerts posted on Telegram, which means they contain little beyond the quotation itself.

What the reports do not say

  • None of the reports describes the original "Epic Fury" operation or its outcome.
  • None says what Trump means by Iran agreeing, or what terms are on the table.
  • There is no reported response from Iran, from Israel or from US officials beyond the president.
  • No report indicates any timetable, decision or order connected to a new operation.
  • The exact English wording of the longer passage is not available in the material, and the Hebrew renderings differ.

איך בדקנו את זה

Five outlets, The Times of Israel, The Jerusalem Post, Ynet, N12 and Abu Ali Express, reported the remarks. The longer quotation about Iran not being smart comes from Hebrew translations by N12 and Abu Ali Express, which differ in wording, and the word 'soon' appears only in Ynet's alert.
