Ra'am climbs to 8 seats and Joint List slips to 11 with 91% of votes counted
A late shift in the count moves a seat between Israel's two main Arab-led lists, while the rest of the tally holds steady, according to N12.

With roughly 91% of ballots counted, Ra'am has gained ground at the expense of the Joint List, two Israeli broadcasters reported early on Thursday morning. According to N12's news flash service, Ra'am now stands at 8 seats, while the Joint List has fallen to 11. N12 added that the projected seat totals for all other parties were unchanged at this stage of the count.
Ynet, in its own alert, reported the same direction of movement at the same point in the count, saying Ra'am was strengthening at the Joint List's expense. The Ynet alert did not state seat figures, so the specific numbers in this report rest on N12 alone.

What a shift in the count means
Israeli vote counts are reported in stages, and the projected distribution of seats can move as later batches of ballots are added. The Hebrew word used in both reports for these seats is mandat (plural mandatim), which refers to a seat in the Knesset, Israel's parliament. Each update recalculates how many seats each list would win if the final result matched the votes counted so far.
Because seats are allocated proportionally across a single national list, a change for one party usually means a change for another. In this update, N12 described the movement as a direct transfer between Ra'am and the Joint List, with no other party affected. That is consistent with the two lists competing largely for the same pool of voters.
Who Ra'am and the Joint List are
Ra'am is the Hebrew acronym for the United Arab List, a party with roots in the southern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel. It draws much of its support from Arab citizens of Israel, including Bedouin communities in the south of the country. Ra'am drew wide attention in recent years for its willingness to work with Jewish-led parties in government, a departure from the traditional stance of Arab parties in Israeli politics.

The Joint List is an alliance of Arab-majority parties that has run together in several Israeli elections, with periods in which some of its member factions split off and ran separately. It also relies heavily on Arab voters, which is why gains for one of these lists often come at the cost of the other.
Arab citizens make up a substantial minority of Israel's population, and the combined seat total of the Arab-led lists can matter for coalition arithmetic, both for blocs seeking a majority and for blocs seeking to prevent one.

How the two reports compare
The two alerts were published about a minute apart and agree on the core facts: the share of votes counted, the parties involved, and the direction of the change. They differ only in detail. N12 gave seat figures for both lists and said the rest of the picture was stable; Ynet's alert described the trend without numbers and pointed readers to a fuller item on its website, which is not part of the material reviewed here.
Neither report presents the update as final. Both describe a count in progress.
What the reports do not say
The alerts leave several questions open. They do not say how many seats Ra'am and the Joint List held in the previous update, so the size of the movement for each list is not stated, though N12's wording implies Ra'am rose to 8 and the Joint List fell to 11. They do not give vote totals or percentages for either party.
Neither report names the parties whose totals were unchanged, gives the full seat distribution, or says which bloc, if any, holds a majority at this stage. They do not explain which ballots remained to be counted or when final results were expected. No statement from either party, or from the body overseeing the count, is included in the material.
Readers should treat these figures as a snapshot of a partial count rather than a result.

איך בדקנו את זה
Ynet and N12 both reported Ra'am gaining at the Joint List's expense with about 91% of votes counted. The seat figures of 8 and 11, and the statement that other parties were unchanged, come from N12 alone.
