Where the numbers come from
Our data comes from official sources: Israel's Water Authority via data.gov.il, the European Central Bank for exchange rates, and the standard Hebrew calendar algorithm for dates, verified against independent references.

Method
How a number gets onto a page
Every figure names the publication it came from, on the page where it appears. The datasets are pulled and committed to the site rather than read live from somebody else's server, so a page still answers the question on the day that server is down.
Where a number is projected rather than measured, the page says so and shows the arithmetic. Where a picture was drawn rather than photographed, the credit reads Illustration. A file photograph beside a news story is labelled as one, because it shows the subject and was not taken at the event.
