Israel.com is responsible for the data described on this page. Anything about how your data is handled, including the requests described under your rights below, goes to hello@israel.com, and we answer it.

Your email address, and only if you type it into one of the signup forms. With it we store which list you chose, the page you signed up on, and the date. Nothing else about you is recorded, and there is no account to create.

We send you the thing you signed up for: the weekly Kinneret level, holiday reminders, the aliyah checklist, or the Shabbat times for your city. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to advertisers, and we do not use it to email you about anything you did not ask for.

The address is stored in our own database and, when the mailing platform is connected, with the provider that actually sends the emails. Those are the only two places it goes.

Until you unsubscribe, which removes you from the list that mail came from. Write to us and we will delete the record entirely, including from the sending platform.

There is no ad network here: no advertising cookies, no data broker, and nothing about your visit is sold or shared for marketing. Some pages do carry clearly-labelled sponsored listings from businesses in our directory, but Israel.com serves those itself - no third-party script runs and no profile of you is built. If you click one, we record the click server-side for billing: the country, city, device type and browser family your browser already sends with every request, plus a one-way code used only to stop the same visitor being billed twice. Your IP address itself is not stored, and advertisers see only aggregate numbers, never anything that identifies you.

We do measure how the site is used, with Mixpanel, so we can tell which tools are worth building on. It records the pages opened, which tool was used, and whether a signup or a share happened, along with the browser, the device type and an approximate location. Your IP address is used to work that location out and is not stored on the record. We do not give Mixpanel your name or email address, and because the site has no reader accounts, the measurement is not tied to a person. It is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie.

If you would rather not be counted, this switch stops it here and now. It applies to this browser, and you can come back and do it on any other one.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it. The lawful basis for the mailing lists is your consent, given when you submitted the form, and you can withdraw it at any time.
