A fish and seafood restaurant in a 400-year-old Ottoman building on the lighthouse square of Old Acre, by the sea
Uri Buri opened his fish restaurant on the Nahariya promenade in 1989 and, eight years later, moved it to Old Acre, into a 400-year-old Ottoman building with high arched ceilings on the water by the lighthouse, close to the market and the port. Its site says each dish keeps to no more than eight ingredients around one main one, and that most can be ordered as half portions or small plates. The menu runs from oysters, sashimi and ceviche to barramundi, drum, grouper and tuna, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free dishes and more than 100 Israeli wines. It is open every day of the week and hosts private events of up to 40 guests. Uri, born in Nahariya in 1944, opened the Efendi Hotel nearby in 2012.
