Bat Shlomo Vineyards

כרמי בת שלמה

Winery · Guest house

8 HaMeyasdim Street, Bat Shlomo

A boutique winery and a six-suite guest house in a restored 1889 farmhouse on the single historic street of Bat Shlomo

Bat Shlomo Vineyards was founded in 2010 in the moshava Baron Edmond de Rothschild set up in 1889, and its tasting room sits beside the restored stone houses of the original street. Its winemaker, Ari Erle, came from Colgin Cellars and O'Shaughnessy in the Napa Valley, and the winery ferments in egg-shaped concrete tanks; it makes Sauvignon Blanc, a Grenache rosé, Chardonnay and red blends such as Betty's Cuvée; the moshava itself is named for the baron's mother, Betty. Tastings start with a short walk along the old street and are paired with local bread, cheeses and vegetables from its organic garden, by reservation from Sunday to Friday. The Farmhouse, one of the 13 stone houses of 1889, takes adults and teenagers from 16 in its suites, with a heated infinity pool, a farm breakfast and chef Daniel Misan's tasting menus.
