The Beit Shemesh branch of Jerusalem's Cafe Rimon, a kosher dairy café and restaurant with a terrace in the Big Fashion mall

Cafe Rimon is a Jerusalem café chain, and by its own account the Rimon family has left its mark on Israeli and Jerusalem cooking since the early days of the Jewish settlement, with a restaurant dating from the founding of the state; its other branches are on Ben Yehuda Street and in Mamilla. The Beit Shemesh branch, in the Big Fashion mall, is done in a modern urban style and looks out over natural woodland and the Jerusalem hills, with a terrace for fine days. The menu runs from breakfasts, Benedicts and shakshuka to salads, calzones from the taboon, pizzas, pastas and fish, with vegan and gluten-free dishes marked, and there is wine and cocktails. It is kosher dairy under Rabbi Machpud's supervision, closes at 14:00 on Friday and opens again an hour after Shabbat ends.
