Cafe Binyamina began as a specialist shop for good coffee; its site says customers were offered tastings now and then until a crowd formed that wanted to sit over a cup, so the owners redesigned and enlarged the place, planted flowers and a lawn and added a small library of books in Hebrew and English. It is in the heart of the old colony, on HaMeyasdim Street, lined on both sides by tall Washington palms. The shop sells beans, ground coffee, capsules and home and office machines from brands such as Hausbrandt, Lavazza and illy beside its own Bella house blends, and its workshop services machines for homes and businesses. It hosts groups of travellers, gives coffee talks and barista workshops, and delivers across the country.
