47 Derech HaRishonim, Bnei Atarot

A winery in a Templer villa in Moshav Bnei Atarot, the old Templer colony of Wilhelma, that hosts tastings and wine workshops by appointment

Villa Wilhelma is the winery that Gil and Moti Goldman, second-generation vine growers, founded in 2001 in a Templer villa in Moshav Bnei Atarot, the former Templer colony of Wilhelma, which has survived almost whole. The old house has high ceilings, many rooms and painted floor tiles, among wide lawns beside the vineyard. The winery makes reds, whites, a dessert wine and a port-style wine, and its flagship TIMELESS series ages five to nine years in oak; the red grapes come from the Ben Zimra vineyard in the Galilee, the Chardonnay from Kerem Avshalom at the foot of Mount Tabor and the other whites from Bnei Atarot. Visitors come by appointment, arranged on WhatsApp, for a bottle with fresh salads, boutique cheeses, house bread, quiche and spreads, for guided wine workshops, or for company events in the barn; it does not host children, apart from babies under one, and has a protected room on site. In 2024 it set up Hotam, its kosher boutique label.
