83 Jabotinsky Road (the factory shop), Bnei Brak

The factory shop of Matzot Aviv, a family matzah bakery founded in 1887, inside its compound on Jabotinsky Road, selling matzos, crackers and cookies on weekdays

Matzot Aviv began, by its own account, as a small family bakery in Jaffa in 1887, moved to Neve Tzedek and, in 1948, to the factory in Bnei Brak, which the fifth, sixth and seventh generations of the founders' family now run. Its site says it was Israel's first automated matzah factory and that it exports to more than 40 countries. Besides matzos for Passover and for the rest of the year it bakes crackers and cookies, on a floor it opened in 2004, and makes the Aviva cookies with no added sugar, organic and gluten-free lines and the Keto Chef range. The factory shop inside the compound sells them Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 to 15:00, for cash or credit card, with parking on site. The factory itself gives no tours.
