Café

HaHaruv Street, Bnei Dror

A coffee cart built from an old horse cart, in a grove at the edge of moshav Bnei Dror, close to the exit to Route 4

Agalata is a coffee cart in a grove in moshav Bnei Dror, built by hand from an old horse cart and fitted out in a retro style with recycled things, such as jute coffee sacks turned into cushions, with seating corners around it. It was set up by Amir Lifshitz, who grew up in the moshav, in the grove near his home for its shade, its breeze and its closeness to the exit to Route 4, as a place to bring people together over coffee and Israeli music. Its site says it serves only 100% arabica beans in a medium roast, bought from small cooperatives and ground on the spot. It also sells wine, honey and olive oil from Israeli producers, holds workshops and evenings, and hires the cart out for events.
