Derekh Har Tavor, Daburiyya

A burger restaurant on the Mount Tabor road in Daburiyya that carries on a family falafel kiosk opened in the village in 1968

Burger 1968 is a burger restaurant on Derekh Har Tavor, the road from Daburiyya up towards Mount Tabor. Its site tells its story in Arabic: in 1968 the family's grandmother, Umm Hussam, opened a small kiosk in an alley of the village, selling falafel and sandwiches made from recipes she had from her own mother, and people came to it from every part of the village. The next generation set out to carry it on with burgers, under the name Burger Baron: the spices and marinades keep a touch of her recipes, the grill is lit and the bread is fresh every day. It opens every evening from 17:30 to 23:45 except Monday, takes orders by phone, on WhatsApp and through its own ordering site and app, and takes event bookings through a form on its site. Its B144 listing says it delivers to Kfar Tavor, Kadoorie, Iksal, Kafr Kama, Shibli-Umm al-Ghanam and Afula as well as Daburiyya.
