The Passion Fruit Man is Shai Fishbein, a former pilot and electronics engineer who turned to teaching, and the liqueur business he built on the Fishbein family farm in Moshav Ein Iron, according to its website. Flora, its passion fruit liqueur, is made from fruit grown in the farm's orchard, where the waters of the Ein Arubot spring run along its edge: the fruit is pressed in a machine that Shai and his brother Assaf developed, steeped in alcohol and filtered until clear, and the drink took about three years to develop. The site says Flora won gold at the Terravino competition in 2012 and double gold in 2015, 2016 and in the United States, and that it is sold in boutique shops and served in restaurants, bars, guest houses and hotels, among its customers the King David Hotel in Jerusalem and El Al's premium cabins. Its packing house in Ein Iron is a visitors' centre for groups, booked ahead, and its online shop sells bottles and gift packs for delivery or pickup from the farm.
