Kibbutz Gadot, Upper Galilee, Gadot

A kibbutz holiday village of ground-floor rooms among lawns on Kibbutz Gadot, on the bank of the Jordan facing the Hula Valley and the Golan, with meals in the kibbutz dining hall.

The holiday village on Kibbutz Gadot opened in 1984 and stands on the bank of the Jordan in the Upper Galilee, looking out over the Hula Valley, the Golan Heights, Mount Hermon, the mountains of Lebanon and the Naftali ridge. Its 15 buildings hold four to six ground-floor rooms each, from 22-square-metre doubles to two-bedroom duplex flats for eight, every one with a kitchenette, and guests stay on bed and breakfast, half board or full board, eating in the kibbutz dining hall, where breads, challahs and cakes are baked. Between May and October the kibbutz's near-Olympic pool and a toddlers' pool are open to guests, and there are basketball, football and tennis courts, a playground and a petting corner, open every day until dark. The village offers tours of the kibbutz and its history and evenings of song and stories, and its site says sports teams and yoga groups hold retreats in the kibbutz's halls and on its lawns.
