Farm 98, Gan HaDarom

A family boutique winery in Moshav Gan HaDarom that makes wine from the pomegranates it grows, with a visitor centre near Ashdod North interchange

Granada Winery was founded in 2002 in Moshav Gan HaDarom by the brothers Avraham and Ovadia Kashi, of a farming family that came from Iraq in 1951 and grows citrus, persimmons and above all Wonderful pomegranates. Its site says the brothers spent about ten years learning to ferment, filter, bottle and store pomegranate wine, which the winery now makes by hand, fermented in stainless steel, in dry, semi-dry and dessert styles, along with pomegranate seed oil. A visit to its visitor centre is free and booked ahead: a guided tour of the winery, a short talk on the pomegranate in Jewish tradition and health, and a tasting of the three wines with hot drinks. The winery is on Farm 98, at the moshav's main roundabout, just off Ashdod North interchange on Road 4.
