Nishke was the childhood nickname of its winemaker, Nissim Oved, in Gil Amal, the Hod HaSharon neighbourhood where he grew up and where the winery stands today. He enrolled in a winemaking course at the Soreq winery at Kibbutz Nahshon in 2015, the year he dates the winery from. It makes about 5,000 bottles a year by hand, apart from machine bottling, from vineyards across the country: Mitzpe Ramon, Gush Etzion, the Judean Hills, the Shephelah, the Galilee and the Golan Heights. It makes reds, whites and rosé, sells them in its online shop and arranges meetings and special events by appointment.
