A coffee cart at the entrance to Hogla, in the shade of a big mulberry tree beside a clover field, open on Friday and Saturday mornings

Luka, which its listing also calls Luka Cafe in the Field, is the coffee cart that Lihi of Hogla set up at the entrance to the moshav after 16 years at the moshav's plant nursery and a pastry course; Luka has been her nickname since childhood. It stands in the shade of a big mulberry tree beside a clover field that is green in winter and turns yellow when it is cut in spring. The menu has muesli, Greek salad, health bowls with granola, frozen mango, macarons, cookies and hand-made open puff pastries with feta and chard, mushrooms and polenta, or cheese and cherry tomatoes, with dishes for vegans and for people who avoid gluten. On Saturdays it serves jachnun and leaves out the muesli and the Greek salad. Lihi says she wants it to be a meeting place for everyone, from mothers on maternity leave to pensioners and families out walking on Shabbat.
