Ibtisam hosts guests in her own home in the centre of Hurfeish, a Druze village in the hills of the Upper Galilee, for a Druze meal or a cooking workshop. By her site's account, a visit opens with coffee, lemonade in summer or herb tea by the fireplace in winter, and her own story; guests then cook dishes such as stuffed vine leaves, mansaf, mujadara, stuffed peppers, kofta, tabbouleh and chicory in season while children join a baking workshop, and it ends with a festive meal of everything cooked, with tea, dessert and her house cake. Her husband Amal tells guests about the Druze community, its faith and the history of the village, and in the foraging season a workshop can include gathering wild plants in the woods near the house. Her site says the kitchen in the yard was made kosher so that guests who keep kashrut can take part, and that the house stands in a garden of fruit trees, jasmine, lemon verbena and rosemary with a waterfall in the yard.
