Hunter House (Beit HaTzayad) is a chef's meat restaurant at the entrance to Jish (Gush Halav), next to the council building, run by its chef and owner Bashir Suleiman; its site says he has 17 years in the restaurant trade, trained as a cook at the Holiday Inn in Tiberias and lectures in cookery at Amal. The idea is an American hunting lodge: an old stone building with a natural wood ceiling, huge wooden chairs and hunting gear on the walls, from a deer's head and rifles to a hunter's hat, and bowls of peanuts on the tables whose shells guests throw on the floor for luck. Aged cuts of veal, among them tomahawk, porterhouse and T-bone sold by the 100 grams, are grilled over charcoal and on wood logs on a Dutch grill in the middle of the room, and on the large terrace guests sit around an old olive tree and watch the cuts in the smoker. Its Rest listing says it hosts events of up to 120 guests and also caters.
