An Italian pizzeria in Moshav Kfar Gidon, near Afula, with Neapolitan-style pizzas from dough risen for two to three days and baked in a few minutes on stone
HaYizraelit is an Italian pizzeria in Moshav Kfar Gidon, just north of Afula, that calls itself Italian pizza in the valley. Its site says the dough is made only of flour, water, salt and very little yeast, with 00 flour imported from Italy and mozzarella from the Ivri dairy, is left to rise for at least 48 to 72 hours, opened by hand without a machine and baked straight on a chamotte stone for two or three minutes at 450 degrees. It recommends eating the pizza on the spot, and for deliveries and pick-ups it leaves the pizza uncut, so that it can be warmed for a few minutes at home and cut with scissors. The menu runs from a margherita at 80 shekels to house pizzas such as its own HaYizraelit, with roasted sweet potato and labneh, and it also brings its pizza to events.
