Cafe Maarag is the café and dairy restaurant of Maarag, a rehabilitative employment, community and tourism centre that the Kochav HaTzafon association opened in Kfar Vradim more than a decade ago. People in Maarag's rehabilitation programme work in the kitchen, in service and waiting tables, and all of the café's income goes to their welfare. Its site says local residents, guests from the area's zimmers and hikers come through the day, along with Maarag's own trainees on their breaks, and that it is full almost all day. Inside, a shop and gallery sells textiles, ceramics, woodwork and prints made in Maarag's workshops, and works by local artists. It hosts events of up to 50 people, and Maarag's hall takes 100 to 120 diners at tables.
