Kibbutz Kinneret, at the entrance to the kibbutz, Kvutzat Kinneret

The shop and visitors' centre of Kibbutz Kinneret, at the entrance to the kibbutz near the southern tip of the Sea of Galilee, built around the dates from the kibbutz's own groves

Tnuvat Kinneret is the shop and visitors' centre at the entrance to Kibbutz Kinneret, and its site calls it the largest date shop in Israel. It sells nine varieties of dates grown in the kibbutz's groves and the Jordan Valley, silan, pure honey from the Kinneret apiary, olive oil, spices, nuts and dried fruit, local beers and wines from the Jordan Valley and the Golan, natural cosmetics, and a gallery of home goods and kitchenware, with gift boxes for the festivals. The visitors' centre shows a film on how two young men brought date palms back to the Land of Israel from Syria, Iraq and Iran more than a century ago, and organised groups can book tastings of dates and silan and talks on the pioneers of Kinneret. The shop is air-conditioned, with toilets and free parking, and it also sells online with delivery.
