A family winery founded in Jerusalem's Old City in 1848, making its kosher wines today at Mishor Adumim.
Zion Winery is owned and run by the Shor family, which by the winery's site has made wine for more than 170 years, since 1848, when the winery began in the Old City of Jerusalem. In the 1980s, under the late Moshe Shor, it moved to Mishor Adumim on the edge of Jerusalem and, by its own account, grew into the sixth largest winery in Israel. Chief winemaker Zvika Shor manages vineyards from Ramat Arad in the northern Negev to the north of the Golan, with agronomist Pini Sarig. Its labels run from Moscato and Imperial to Estate, Capital and the flagship Crown, a Bordeaux-style blend aged 18 months, and the site says the wines are sold in supermarket chains, delicatessens and wine shops across the country.
