A boutique coffee roastery and espresso bar in the industrial zone of Kibbutz Mahanayim, with its own bakery, Irma.
Moshytz Coffee began in Melbourne, where its founder worked for years as a barista before buying a small home roaster and learning the beans, the origins and the roast; it now roasts its four blends, Bayit, Ya'ar, Egoz and Botz, and single-origin coffees. In a bright room in Kibbutz Mahanayim it put the roasting machine, seats and a bakery whose door opens straight onto the counter, and the beans in the grinder change every day, served as espresso, French press or affogato. Its bakery, Irma, fills the counter daily, bakes olive-oil challahs on Fridays, one white and one wholemeal and vegan, and has warm yeast cakes from Thursday; challahs and cakes can be ordered ahead. It also runs a coffee workshop of an hour and a half to two hours at the roastery, on brewing, grinding, taste and aroma, for private groups and companies.
