A kosher family boutique winery in Moshav Mata in the Jerusalem hills, founded in 2002, with a Thursday-night wine bar and a Friday coffee cart

Nevo Winery is a kosher family boutique winery founded in 2002 in Moshav Mata, making about 14,000 bottles a year, mostly dry reds from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, with a whole-cluster rosé since 2013 and a Chardonnay since 2020. Its grapes grow in Mata's vineyards at about 700 metres, including a Merlot vineyard the family planted beside the winery in 2010, and the reds age in French oak barrels in the winery's cellar. The visitor centre, built in the style of the area, opens to everyone on Thursday evenings as a wine bar and on Fridays with the winery's coffee cart. Through the week it holds guided tastings for groups by arrangement: four of the winery's wines with sourdough bread baked on site, hard cheeses, dips and home-made olive oil, for 150 shekels a person.
