Pisgat Mattat is two wooden cabins among the oaks beside the home of Avi and Hagar Lifshitz in Mitzpe Mattat, built by Avi with his own hands, and its site says the family has been hosting for more than 20 years. The cabins stand 840 metres above sea level facing the summit of Mount Mattat, and each has a wood stove, a television with a streamer, air conditioning, a dry Finnish sauna inside, a kitchenette with a Nespresso machine and the hosts' own herbal tea, and a barbecue corner outside. Gal BaTeva has a spa jacuzzi on a private balcony and a gallery with mattresses for up to four children, while Tzemach Bar, for couples only, has a large round jacuzzi by a window onto the view, 33 steps down from the car park. Breakfast and dinner in the cabin and treatments can be ordered ahead at extra cost, and Avi, who took a course in ageing sausages in Spain, runs workshops in chorizo, dry sausages and aged and smoked meats in the family's yard.
