Orita is an Asian kitchen at 53 HaIrusim Street, founded by chef Orit Abadi Meir. Its ordering site says she was head chef of the Soho restaurant when it was founded, honed her command of Asian cooking techniques over more than a decade and led the writing of its sushi menu. Over her career, it says, she has advised restaurants in Israel and abroad, worked with chefs including Haim Cohen and run an Asian food project for Microsoft. She came to cooking from set and costume design, and for her cooking is an art in every sense: a palette of colours, design, emotion. The kitchen's aim, in its own words, is to take Asian food in its full depth and tune it to the Israeli palate without compromising on ingredients. It takes orders for pickup and delivery on its own site.
