Herbert Samuel Hod Dead Sea is the Herbert Samuel chain's hotel at Ein Bokek, on the shore of the Dead Sea facing the desert mountains; the chain's other hotel on the strip is Milos. Its site says the hotel has lately gone through a massive renovation and reopened, with direct access to the beach from the hotel through a gate that opens with the room card; the beach is open from 7:30 to 17:30 in summer and to 16:00 in winter. The pool area has a large main pool, a toddlers' pool, loungers and sunshades, and the spa complex and the lobby, with its soft sofas, drinks and light dishes, look out over the view. The hotel restaurant serves meals every day, room service works from 8:00 to 22:30, and pairs of bicycles are lent to guests. There is a synagogue on the lower floor, with a kashrut supervisor on hand at mealtimes, and food and drink may not be brought into the hotel.
