Green Pub is a bar and restaurant in Kibbutz Nir Am that its site says has been running for 22 years, with a green, homely feel, a well-stocked bar, a kitchen, good alternative music, shows and productions. It opens at 19:00 from Tuesday to Saturday with a menu for the whole family, and from 22:00 the lights go down and it becomes a pub until the small hours. The menu runs from vegetable and fried platters, pão de queijo and carpaccio to schnitzel, fish and chips, burgers and a choripán, with draught beers, chasers and cocktails. It hosts private events of up to 220 people, from parties and company evenings to bar mitzvahs and small weddings, and runs a mobile bar for events around the country. The regional council's page on Nir Am says it holds evenings for the area's students and everyone young at heart.
