Café

Derech Nordia, behind the seniors' club, Nordia

A community café behind Nordia's seniors' club, run by older volunteers and the moshav's young people, in a pink building that began as an armoury.

Cafe Tsarchania was set up behind the seniors' club and employment centre that opened in Nordia in the coronavirus years, in the building of the moshav's first grocery store; its own small building began as an armoury and was later the store's warehouse and an upholstery shop. Senior women volunteers and the moshav's young people run it, and all the takings keep the place going and fund the club's activities: one group of women does the baking, and another, from the ceramics class, makes the tableware. In a pink building and a colourful yard with bright furniture in the shade of the trees it serves a short, homely menu of drinks, pastries and sandwiches, and sells ceramics and creams made by the club's women. Its page on the Lev HaSharon tourism site says it suits gluten-free and vegan diets, holds activities for children once a month and asks groups to call about an hour ahead.
