Odem Mountain Winery

יקב הר אודם

Winery · Golan Heights religious council

Moshav Odem, northern Golan Heights, Odem

A family winery founded in 2003 in Moshav Odem in the northern Golan, about 1,060 metres up, with a visitors' centre for tastings, cheese platters and pizza baked on stone

Odem Mountain Winery was founded in 2003 by Idit and Michael Alfasi, and Adam Alfasi has made its wines since the start; Yuval and Monica Golan joined as partners in 2009. Its site calls it the highest winery in Israel: its vineyards grow on basalt soil at about 1,060 metres among the oak woods of the northern Golan, and it makes about 180,000 bottles a year in the Ya'ar Odem, Volcani, Har Odem and Alfasi series and dessert wines, all kosher and vegan. The visitors' centre in Moshav Odem pours tastings facing the vineyards or in the old production hall, with cheese platters with olives, dips and house bread, a margherita pizza baked on stone (with a gluten-free option) and picnic baskets, and dogs are welcome. It also hosts private and company events and weddings.
