14 Marganit Street, Omer

A boutique winery on Marganit Street in Omer that ages its wines with quartz crystals and pairs each one with a gemstone.

Gems Winery is a boutique winery at 14 Marganit Street in Omer. Its site says the founder grew up on his father's and grandfather's stories of working the land and planted his first vineyard in 2006, as an engineering student, and that in 2008 the winery began experimenting with gems. It ages its wines with quartz crystals, a process its site calls patented (WO2011018791A1), and names each wine after a stone: Rose Quartz Merlot, Amethyst Shiraz, Citrine Malbec and a 2025 Rose Quartz pink port. It says its grapes are grown with organic, pesticide-free practices. Visitors are received Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 18:00 and on Fridays until 15:00, after a phone call.
