A kosher café at the Yachin Center, set up to give work to people coping with mental illness, serving breakfasts, pastas and khachapuri.
Its site says Cafe Bealma was founded by the Association for Public Health with help from the National Insurance Institute's fund for services for people with disabilities, to bring workers coping with mental illness into ordinary work in the community, and that it has served the community since 2005. Alma is Spanish for soul. To a guest it runs like any café: breakfasts served until 20:00, shakshukas, salads, Georgian khachapuri from the stone oven, pizzas and pastas, with a vegan menu of its own. It is kosher under the Petah Tikva rabbinate and opens from 9:00 to 22:30 on weekdays and on Friday morning.
