A family Iraqi restaurant on Salor Street in Petah Tikva, known for its kubbeh soups, stuffed vegetables and slow-cooked tbit.
Its site says Suham opened the place near her home in Petah Tikva 26 years ago, and that her son Yair Hallali, who had cooked at the Daniel Hotel, turned it into a full restaurant; since his death his wife Tamar and their children Shiran and Elad have run it. In the open kitchen a team of mothers rolls the kubbeh and stuffs the vegetables, and the menu runs to sgi'k, arouq, tbit, every kind of kubbeh and a row of salads. Vegetarian and vegan stuffed vegetables and kubbeh are made to order in advance. It opens Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 to 16:00 and on Friday from 6:00 to noon.
