1 Bar Ilan Street, corner of Ahuza Street, Ra'anana

A family-run home-cooking restaurant at the corner of Bar Ilan and Ahuza Streets, cooking Tripolitan, Moroccan, Iraqi and Kurdish dishes for lunch, with a buffet on Friday mornings.

Najima is a family-run restaurant named after a grandmother on the Iraqi side of the family; najima means star in Arabic. Its kitchen brings together Tripolitan, Moroccan, Iraqi and Kurdish home cooking: mafroum, kubbeh, stuffed vegetables, pkaila, couscous and the soup of the day, with vegan dishes and gluten-free marks on the menu. It has been open for more than 15 years by its own count, serves lunch from 11:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and lays out a buffet on Friday from 08:00 to 14:00, and it delivers, takes pickup orders and caters events. Its site says it works under the supervision of the Ra'anana chief rabbinate.
