A kosher sushi bar and Asian kitchen on Moshe Dayan Street, rolling sushi by hand and cooking wok dishes

Kan Kai is a kosher sushi bar and Asian kitchen on Moshe Dayan Street. By its site's account, restaurateur Hadar Akram Cohen founded it in 2007: it began as a small restaurant at Kibbutz Einat, and her own start was a folding stall in a Rosh HaAyin neighbourhood shopping centre, where she rolled sushi in front of passers-by before sushi caught on in Israel. Hot Asian dishes were added over the years, and the kitchen adapts eastern flavours to Israeli tastes; the sushi is rolled by hand. It is open from 10:00 on weekdays, until 15:00 on Friday and again from half an hour after Shabbat, and it takes orders for delivery and pickup through its site.
