Rotem, northern Jordan Valley, Rotem, Bik'at HaYarden

A dairy café in the ecological village of Rotem in the northern Jordan Valley, with breakfasts, salads, ravioli and desserts served indoors or in a shaded yard facing the view

Caffe BeRotem is a dairy café in Rotem, an ecological village in the north of the Jordan Valley; its site says it opened eight years ago as a place for good coffee facing the view and slowly grew a full dairy menu of fresh ingredients. It is run by two neighbours and friends, Adela and Revital, mothers of children growing up in the village, who say they take care to serve each dish in a rustic style on handsome tableware. Guests sit in an air-conditioned room or a shaded yard, and the site lists accessible toilets, Wi-Fi, an English menu, vegetarian and vegan dishes and plenty of parking. Dishes on its home page include truffle ravioli in butter and sage, a salmon breakfast on a home-made pitta and a sweet potato salad, and it also takes takeaway orders online, sells hosting trays and gift vouchers, and hosts events. Groups of seven or more are asked to book; smaller parties sit wherever there is room.
