The Founders' Site (Atar HaRishonim), Kibbutz Ruhama, Ruhama

A coffee cart at the Founders' Site of Kibbutz Ruhama, open every day, rebuilt there after its first home at the Black Arrow was destroyed on 7 October 2023

Caffe BaSivuv calls itself the first coffee cart in the Negev. Its owner, Hagai Horowitz, a reservist commander in the Maglan unit and an agronomist born and raised in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, a third generation of Negev settlers, opened it in 2020 at the Black Arrow memorial on the Mefalsim bend, as a meeting place for the area's residents, hikers, tourists and soldiers. The cart was looted and destroyed in the attack of 7 October 2023, and in December 2024 it was set up again at the Founders' Site in Kibbutz Ruhama, where it opens every day of the week, Saturday included. The Founders' Site tells the story of the pioneers' farm at Ruhama from 1911, and its restored giant pump still draws water from the deep well dug in 1913, which the regional council's index calls the first Zionist well in the Negev. In May 2026 the chain went back to the Black Arrow with an Italian food truck, Italkia BaSivuv, and it also runs culinary productions and kosher dairy catering for events.
