A bed and breakfast of two restored 300-year-old domed stone rooms in the Artists' Quarter of Safed's Old City, run by a family from California
The guesthouse is owned and run by a family of immigrants from California, who bought the property as an unrenovated cluster of hand-built domes and opened its doors in 2010. It has two units, a studio and a suite, each with a kitchenette and a private bathroom, around a garden courtyard with dining tables and under a rooftop balcony that faces Mount Meron. A hot vegetarian breakfast is brought to the room from Sunday to Friday, and for Shabbat and holidays it is set out in the room in advance. The rooms are equipped for Shabbat with timers for the lights, a hot plate and an urn, and the hosts put up a sukkah at Sukkot and a menorah at Hanukkah. Guests can also book a massage.
