A family deli in Safed's industrial zone that cooks all week and sells ready-made Shabbat food on Friday mornings

Dabush Deli opens to the public only on Fridays and on the eves of holidays, from 08:30 until the trays empty. Through the week the Dabush family cooks for that morning: fresh and cooked salads, fish in Moroccan sauce, stews, asado with prunes, mafrum, couscous rolled by hand and challah baked before dawn, all sold by weight. By its own account it grew out of the sandwiches the mother of the family began making in her kitchen in 2010, and it keeps to Fridays so that nothing is made on an industrial scale. Orders are taken by phone and WhatsApp from Sunday to Thursday, and its site recommends coming early on Friday.
