The Sasa shop of Buza, the Galilee ice cream made by hand in its own factory on Kibbutz Sasa, open at weekends.
Buza says it set out to make fresh, local, seasonal ice cream that celebrates the Galilee, its varied human mosaic, its soil and its flavours, and its factory on Kibbutz Sasa makes more than a hundred flavours by hand. Its flavour list runs from vanilla, mascarpone with amarena and pistachio to Ras el Hanout, a Galilean spice ice cream, kunafa, salted caramel, brown butter and Layali Beirut, with sorbets of natural fruit such as red grapefruit, baladi melon and mango, vegan and no-added-sugar ice creams. Its shops also serve mini pancakes, cookies, Belgian waffles and what it calls sambuza, and sell ice cream cakes to take home. The Sasa shop is one of twelve, from the Galilee to the Lido junction by the Dead Sea, and opens Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00.
