Baba Cafe is a coffee cart in a grove full of shade on HaTe'ena Street in moshav Sha'ar Efraim, built by hand on the base of an old horse cart. Seating corners, cushions made from recycled coffee sacks and a retro look give it a warm community feel, according to its page on the Lev HaSharon tourism site. It serves coffee, sandwiches such as sourdough ciabatta and American bagels, toasts on hand-made bagels or challah, salads cut to order, home-made pastries and desserts, sometimes with American ice cream, and shakes, infusions, natural juices and seasonal specials, with vegetarian and vegan options. It opens Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 to 13:00 and again from 16:30 to 18:30, and Friday from 8:00 to 12:00.
