80 HaHaklaim Street, Moshav Talmei Yehiel, Talmei Yehiel

A family boutique winery beside its vineyards on a farm in Moshav Talmei Yehiel, making single-variety wines from vines grown on the moshav

Shorer Winery stands on the Shorer family's farm in Moshav Talmei Yehiel, where the family settled in 1979 on its return from a Jewish Agency mission in the United States. Sagi Shorer, a graduate of the Soreq winemaking school, left a business career in Tel Aviv at close to 50, planted vines on the family farm and founded the boutique winery beside them in 2018; he grows the grapes and makes the wine. It works by four principles it names as regionality, single varieties, simplicity and sustainable farming: every grape comes from its plots on the moshav, and each variety is given its own wine, from French Colombard and Chenin Blanc to Carignan, Sangiovese, Malbec and Syrah. The visitors' centre opens from Sunday to Friday for a tasting, or a glass of wine with local cheeses, bread and dips, and it runs tours of the vineyard and winery from Sunday to Thursday by appointment.
