A family-run kosher Tripolitan restaurant on Yad Harutzim Street, the Tel Aviv branch of a business that began as a market stall almost fifty years ago

Bechor et Shoshi is a kosher Tripolitan restaurant at 13 Yad Harutzim Street, which its site says a father and daughter, Bechor and Shoshi, run as a family restaurant. It began almost fifty years ago as a small stall in the Pardes Katz market, where Bechor made Tripolitan burik, filo pastry filled with potato or egg, for passers-by, and as local demand grew he added couscous, mafrum, rice and more. The Tel Aviv branch serves mafrum, chirshi (a pumpkin spread usually eaten with bread), chraime, couscous, beans, patties and stews of meat or chicken with vegetables, and its site says the restaurant fills up at lunchtime. It also delivers, caters events and holds closed events of up to 50 people.
