Café

Asif Corner, by the Israel Trail, Kibbutz Yagur, Yagur

A volunteer-run community coffee cart beside a resting place for Israel Trail hikers at the foot of the Carmel on Kibbutz Yagur, set up in memory of Asif Luger

Cafe Asif is a community coffee cart beside Asif Corner, a shaded resting place with tables and benches for hikers on the Israel Trail, at the foot of the Carmel on Kibbutz Yagur. It was set up in memory of Sergeant Asif Luger, a son of Yagur who fell in Gaza on 31 October 2023, and is run by volunteers, with its income going to the Dov Kotev BaMidbar association that keeps his memory. The menu has sandwiches and toasts, fresh salads, savoury and sweet pastries, cakes and desserts beside good coffee and hot and cold drinks, with hot jachnun on Saturdays, and the music playing comes from Asif's own playlists. Every Thursday evening its Latet BaRosh stage opens for young musicians.
