Electric bicycle rider, about 30, killed by truck on Route 4 near Zichron Yaakov

A man riding an electric bicycle was struck by a truck on Route 4 at the Zichron Yaakov junction in northern Israel and was pronounced dead at the scene, Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical service, said. Its spokesperson's unit said a call reached the organisation's 101 emergency dispatch centre in the Sharon region at 16:37, reporting a cyclist hit by a truck at the junction.

Medics and paramedics treated the man at the roadside and carried out resuscitation efforts on a man of about 30 with multi system trauma. In a follow up notice minutes later, the service said that after those efforts the crews pronounced the rider dead. The Israeli news outlet N12 also reported the death, describing it as a fatal crash near Zichron Yaakov involving a cyclist of about 30.
