A café and market restaurant in a flower-decked alley between the market and the marina of Old Acre, run by Samir and Nahla Asdi

Turkiz is a café and Mediterranean-style market restaurant in a picturesque passage linking the market and the marina of Old Acre, an alley decked with flowers, plants and evening lights. The Western Galilee tourism site says that in the morning it serves breakfasts, and coffee and tea in tableware Samir Asdi collected around the world, beside his homemade desserts, among them a knafeh the site singles out. From noon there is traditional Arab food, entrecôte and tomahawk steaks, lamb chops and salmon from the taboon, roasted meat and vegetables, fresh fish and fried or stewed seafood, with salads, hummus, tahini and tabbouleh made on the spot. Samir, who worked for years in event photography after his father, left it to open the restaurant with his wife Nahla after a year of planning.
