A Galilee bakery that bakes only with spelt flour, with its own café truck at the entrance to Kibbutz Ami'ad by the winery.
Pitputim bakes breads, pastries, cakes and cookies from spelt flour alone, with no wheat or other flour added, and many of its products are vegan, among them a white spelt sourdough it developed for people with Crohn's disease and colitis. Its site tells how Keren and Katie became friends on Kibbutz Ami'ad in the 1990s; Keren founded the bakery in 2010, Katie joined in 2017, and in 2022 the two came back to Ami'ad and opened a café truck at the entrance to the kibbutz, by the winery junction, in a quiet corner of plants and flowers. The truck sells the whole range with coffee: sweet and savoury pastries, personal breads, cakes, cookies and sandwiches. Its breads also go to health-food shops and delis across the country, and the truck opens Sunday to Friday from 7:30 to 14:00.
