Three guest rooms and an ecological tent in a home yard at the last house on the edge of Arad, facing the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea and the mountains of Moab.

Desert's Edge is a home yard with three guest rooms and an ecological guest tent, in the last house at the end of a quiet residential neighbourhood, five minutes' drive from the centre of Arad and 25 from the Dead Sea and Masada. Each room has a double bed, a pull-out single bed, its own shower, a kitchenette and a coffee corner, and outside is a sitting corner with room for a campfire or a barbecue; breakfast is served facing the view, with a vegan version of everything on the menu. The hosts are Shir-Li Golan, who moved to the desert after 30 years as a writer at Yedioth Ahronoth and cooks home meals influenced by the Syrian kitchen, and Gili Sofer, an environmental activist and former journalist who plans routes with guests and takes them out on foot or by off-road vehicle. The place separates its waste, keeps water in clay jars and tends an ecological garden, and Arad's network of walking trails starts by the door.

Every room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a shower and toilet of its own, and a television connected to a streamer with Netflix rather than broadcast channels. The kitchenette has an electric hob, a toaster oven, a small fridge and dishes; kosher dishes can be asked for.
