Restaurant 1910 sits in Hatzer Rishonim, the historic courtyard of Kibbutz Degania Alef, in a room that belongs to the first group of buildings put up on the kibbutz, among stone houses, a lawn and palm trees. Its site says it was born of the shared love of hosting, people and food of chef Oded Schwarzbard, Alon Hadar and Shachar Hochler; Schwarzbard moved to the kibbutz from Tel Aviv with his partner Basmat, who was born there and makes the desserts, after twenty years in kitchens that included chef Jonathan Roshfeld's. The seasonal menu is built for sharing: pizzas from an Italian stone oven, fish and seafood on the plancha, handmade pasta, and dishes that have been on the menu since it opened, such as the corn polenta and the sea bass fillet with green risotto. There is seating inside with a view of the kitchen and the oven, on a balcony facing the courtyard and at a bar, and a list of Israeli wines, most of them from the north, beside Italian ones. It is open every day from 18:00 to 22:30 and hosts private events of 30 to about 70 guests at lunchtime.
